CD Giveaway: The Craft Economy.

Three things: (1) no podcast this week, (2) I'm giving away pretty, fun CDs, and (3) come to Sneaks with me on Saturday for free! See below . . .

The Toronto-based band has given me a couple disks to give away. If you want one, send me a message at historyjenATgmailDOTcom including your mailing address. The CDs, which are beautifully printed, are numbered special edition disks containing 9 songs: the entire "All on C" EP (2007) of 6 songs plus two new ones off their upcoming release. The Craft Economy offer danceable 80s-inspired indie pop with male-female vocal playoffs, handclaps, frenetic drumming, and happy synths. Their live performances are tight, energetic, and great fun, and the CD creates a party atmosphere too, but without being unthoughtful.

Get a sense of the band's sound here: http://www.myspace.com/thecrafteconomy.

The band has played shows around town at all the indie hot spots, recently played Pop Montreal, and you can catch them in Toronto again soon when they release their newest EP. If, for one, intend to be there.

Here's the track listing for this special edition disk:

1. Menergy
2. Big Purse Lil' Dawg
3. (break)
4. The Crash
5. Drag On
6. Ok. Ciao. Bye.
7. Until It Squeaks
8. Lives of Captured Scientists
9. The Kissing Song
