Watch this: Arietta, Gentleman Reg, $100 (live), Beth In Battle Mode (live).

Arietta have a new video for "Old Habits Die Young." The guys are hitting up a bunch of different cities over the next few months. If you're into mathy rock with a pop heart, you might dig them. Energetic live shows!

Earlier this year Gentleman Reg released a cover of Stevie Nicks' "Wild Heart" on a digital-only EP (Heavy Head). And now there's a video, shot and directed by Colin Medley and Jared Raab. The video is near-copy of the Nicks' clip that was the inspired. More details here. Love G Reg!

Simone and Ian from $100 performed at last weekend's Dap All-Ages afternoon show. Here's one of the songs they did, as filmed by Justin Beach. More videos from the event---which also featured Doldrums, Maylee Todd & Pegwee Power, and Grand Analog---over at NxEW.ca.

As Simone says at the start, $100 has a headlining show at Lee's Palace on 14 May as part of what's being called the "Blue Fog Revue." Also appearing will be Andre Etheir, Castlemusic, Eiyn Sof, Nordic Nomadic, Rick White, and Wyrd Visions. Advanced tickets are available from Soundscapes and Rotate This for $12, or you can get in for $15 at the door. Sounds pretty great to me.

Beth in Battle Mode played its last set ever a few days ago. I couldn't go (for reasons which escape me now), but thankfully Justin was on hand to record it for me! Ok, not really for me. For all of us. Here's part 1 (of 7). The rest are here.

Thanks for plugging the video. Correction though: my pal Jared's last name is Raab. : )

Hard to leave a comment to a few videos, but the one that stood out was $100. They sounded great.

Fixed! Thanks! (Ack!)
I haven't seen $100 in too long.

It'd been awhile since I'd seen $100, too — and they had a bunch of new (well, to me, at least) songs.

I'm only leaving a second comment because the word verification phrase is "ackboat". Which sounds like it would be an inneresting ride.

wonder if they named themselves after the NY town?

Arietta is a musical term; that's what they named their band after.
