Welcome to my weekly roundup of inexpensive indie(ish) musical happenings in downtown Toronto, all for $10 or less. I try to list as many shows here as I know about, though this list is not comprehensive. If I'm missing something or you have any comments, let me know.
I was out a lot last week. Let's see if I can remember what I saw . . . The D'Urbervilles, Bocce, Slow Hand Motem, $100, Richard Laviolette & the Oil Spills, The Craft Economy, Whale Tooth, Provincial Parks, Hamilton Trading Co., Still Life Still, and The Rural Alberta Advantage. Not a bad list.
But now I'm sick, and I've no energy this week to compile a full list, but here are some suggestions.

ReplyDeletedoesn't carl wilson do this well enough?
ReplyDeleteThe Zoilus list is great. He lists things I don't, and vice versa. (If you're into jazz and improv, for example, his list is better than mine.) But for $10 or less rock-pop, my listings are more extensive. Well, not this week, but every other week for sure. And I also like to list start times and cover charge for every show, which Zoilus does not always include. So yeah, Zoilus + me + other outlets that give you concert listings for more expensive shows = in the know!
ReplyDeleteSerena Ryder plays for free at Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday, showtime I believe at 7 pm.
ReplyDeleteps. obviously Anonymous hasn't well enough compared your concert listings with Zoilus, because your listings are WAY different and as you said your listings cover practically every local indie show, $10 or less every week. No one else comes close.(I sure don't)
Zoilus and I take listings from each other, too. I don't check his list during the week, so it may be that items that appear on mine make it to his after the fact.
ReplyDelete(Carl and I talked about how we steal from each other tonight, when we tan into each other!)
